The garden snail comes in many shapes and sizes and is the most common snail in the Netherlands and Belgium. Garden snails are sometimes a burden to garden plants, but they mainly eat plant waste, such as dead leaves, dead insects, fungi and wood. The snails process this into compost and are therefore also very useful in the garden.
If their shell gets damaged, the snail is able to repair it by coating the inside of the shell. How convenient!
